Intriguing contemporary fantasy
A complex and intriguing story. I LOVE Kate. Contemporary/Urban fantasy is some of my favorite and I love a strong FMC that is t young and virginal. Give me a character who has lived life and seen things. Complex world building and complicated plot lines. It keeps your attention from beginning to end. A quick jaunt that leaves you ready to read the next part of the story. Can’t wait to get the rest of the journey.
I Got Totally Hooked on This Series!
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but wow—I got pulled in fast! Gumtree Gargoyles is dark, cool, and full of supernatural surprises. I really liked Katie as the main character—she’s tough but also figuring things out, which made her feel real. The setting in Canberra gave it a unique vibe too. The mix of magic, mystery, and action kept me flipping pages, and the whole secret-world-among-us thing was awesome. If you like urban fantasy with strong characters and a bit of edge, definitely give this a shot!

I really enjoyed the book—it hooks you quickly and it's a fantasy of heroes and villains that draws you in and makes it hard to go to bed because you just can't stop reading. A mythological story filled with magic and mystery. I absolutely loved the main character. A book I definitely recommend.

Decent fantasy series
Pretty good reading with this book. Besides very cheap looking cover, the story itself is very captivating and I can recommend this book to any fantasy or even scifi or horror lover.
Dark Urban Fantasy at Its Best — Couldn’t Put It Down!
As a fan of mythological thrillers and urban fantasy, Gumtree Gargoyles absolutely swept me away! Rebecca Rosengrave has created an incredibly original world hidden right in the heart of Canberra — a place I would have never imagined as the backdrop for such gripping, dark adventures.Katie’s journey from reluctant guardian to fierce protector is raw, emotional, and at times hilarious. The mix of ancient mystical lore with a modern city full of secrets kept me hooked from the first page. The writing is sharp, the world-building is fantastic, and the characters (especially the quirky ones like Luke-John and the Selkie Sisters) are unforgettable.
If you love stories with strong heroines, hidden underworlds, and a twisty, thrilling ride, this series is a must-read. I can’t wait for Season 2 — highly recommend!

Canberra gets weird
The story transports readers to a supernatural Canberra where gargoyles serve as protectors of the city. New Guardian Katie sets herself up to battle dark powers. Mythical creatures including shapeshifters and vampires and fairies and others form a wide range of entities that sometimes exhibit vengeful behavior. Throughout the narrative it discusses how exile functions alongside disputes over ruling power. Katie needs to learn full control of her abilities to stop an upcoming war. Embarking on a speedy story that blends enchantment with intrigue is what readers will find in this plot. People into urban fantasy literature with a dominant female character should find enjoyment in the first section of this publishing series. The story continues beyond this point so I want to read it to discover the future events.
